Children’s Club – activities for Ukrainian children

ICAR Foundation implements within the project “RAZOM (TOGETHER) – Network of physical and mental health services adapted to the needs of Ukrainian refugees” a program of psycho-social activities that also includes the organization of two preschool children’s clubs.

Within the clubs, day activities are organized for Ukrainian children hosted by the General Directorates of Social Work and Child Protection in Bucharest, with the purpose of developing social interaction and emotional skills of Ukrainian children for group life in a post-migration context.

In this sense, non-formal activities are carried out, both outdoors and indoors, psycho-social, artistic, recreational activities that aim to both discover and value children’s talents, as well as develop the creativity of each child. Until now, various educational, communication and creative workshops, outdoor games have been held.

The activities are carried out by the intercultural mediators together with the psychologist and the target group responsible within the project, according to an established schedule and to the availability of the target group.

The main locations where the children’s clubs were held are managed by the General Directorate of Social Work and Child Protection – District 1, with which ICAR Foundation has concluded a collaboration protocol, and the General Directorate of Social Work and Child Protection – District 2.

The project “RAZOM (TOGETHER) – Network of physical and mental health services adapted to the needs of Ukrainian refugees“ is implemented by the ICAR Foundation in partnership with the Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims “Memoria” (RCTV Memoria) with the financial support of Active Citizens Fund Romania, programme funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through EEA Grants 2014 – 2021.
